Reverse Sing Support

Reverse Sing is a party game for two people and one iPhone: one person sings a short song, the app plays it backwards, and the other sings it back in parts to see how close the reversed result comes to the original.

Why does Reverse Sing need the microphone?

To record. On the Sing step it records the song, and on the Imitate step it records each part. iOS asks for permission the first time you press a record button, and the app records only while you are recording a take. If you decline, the rest of the app keeps working. You can turn the microphone on later in Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone, or with the Open Settings button that Reverse Sing shows in place of the record button.

Where are my recordings kept, and how do I delete them?

On your iPhone, in the app's own storage. There is no account and no server, and Reverse Sing never uploads your audio. Each round (the song, its parts, and where they sit on the timeline) is saved automatically.

How do I share a round?

First join your parts: tap Compare with the original on the Imitate step. Then tap Share on the Compare step, or the share button at the top of the round. Reverse Sing makes two audio files named after the round, your attempt played backwards and the original song, and opens the iOS share sheet so you can send them wherever you like. Nothing is shared unless you choose to.

How do I know how well I did?

By listening. There is no score. On the Compare step, switch between Reverse singing (your attempt played backwards) and Original recording, and decide together how close it came.

Why are headphones recommended?

With Play along while recording turned on, the reversed song plays while you record a part. Through the speaker, the microphone would pick up the song as well as your voice. Headphones keep your part clean.

Why are there ads, and how do I change my ad choices?

Reverse Sing is free and supported by ads from Google AdMob. The ads are muted, so they never add sound to a round.
